Today we were at Soriana’s (the Mexican Wal-Mart) and I was getting
money from the ATM. There was this couple in front of us probably in
their late 30’s. They were having problems with the machine and they
asked Erika and me if we could help. Turns out, neither of them could
read and did not know which buttons to push on the machine. We were
able to walk them through the process and they were very kind. I know
that there are illiterate adults in the US, but it was definitely a
new experience for me.

Erika’s Mom and sister, Leslie, are coming tomorrow night. They are
bringing us books and things we can’t find here! It will be good to
spend the week with them and to show them around. We are taking our
first bus trip too this weekend – should be exciting!
