A WordCamp Asia recap

·

1–2 minutes

It was a quick trip to Mumbai — I was on a plane almost as long as I was in India. But I’m glad I went. I wrote up a full recap on the WordPress.com blog, so go read that for the fll story.

For here, two things stuck with me from hallway conversations with developers and agencies:

The WordPress plugin ecosystem is alive. Builders are building, and I heard about several exciting projects in the works.

On a related note, not everyone is on the AI train. For many folks, things like Claude Code are too cost-prohibitive, some are opting out by choice, and both are fair. A good reminder that the WordPress community is bigger and more varied than whatever AI conversation is loudest on X in a given week.

Also: WordCamp India was announced as the 4th flagship event. I really hope to be back.
