11.5 Great Years, Here’s To What’s Next

It is a bittersweet day. After 11.5 years, it is my last as an Incsubber. We put the power of web publishing in the hands of 100s of thousands of students with Edublogs, we supported the missions of hundreds of the best universities and schools in the world with CampusPress, and at WPMU DEV, we built a new hosting service for web agencies from the ground up that’s been growing like wildfire. Plus a whole lot more, and all while paving our own path and doing it in our own unique way.

Leaving behind colleagues that have become family and not being just a Slack message away for the customers I’ve gotten to know deeply will be hard.

Making it a bit easier is knowing that I’m staying at the ideal intersection of two things I know well and am passionate about – WordPress and education. I’m incredibly excited to get to work starting on Monday at Automattic. I’ll be doing whatever I can to help make Sensei LMS the most user-friendly, widely used, and impactful tool for learning and online courses on the web.

I started this morning by participating in this year’s Worldwide WordPress 5k – and either my phone’s GPS was a bit off or it ended up being a new personal best for a 5k time. Woohoo! It was the perfect way to clear my head, do something with the greater WordPress community, and get myself ready to hit the ground running in a whole new way.

A screenshot showing a 5K time of 27 minutes and 43 seconds.

Interested in keeping up with Sensei – join the mailing list or follow @senseilms on Twitter. There haven’t been many tweets there in a while, but I suspect that’ll change soon enough. 😉

Here we go.
